The EH 150 is a decent-sounding headphone, perhaps a little warm and resonant-sounding in the low-mids & bass, but still quite a respectable performer at this very inexpensive pricepoint. These low-impedance, high-efficiency cans are easily driven and work well directly out of any portable audio player. Sennheiser always uses very durable, excellent materials in their product, making these cans a superb value for listeners who will be throwing them into a backpack or suitcase and jamming large amidst their travels.

The EH 150 is a sealed (closed-back) headphone that sort of splits the difference between circumaural and supra-aural earpad design. They have mid-sized, circular pleather pads that surround the ears, but are small enough that the flat surface of the earpads rests gently on the outside part of the earlobes. The result is a set of headphones that have the light weight and small size of a portable supra-aural design, but have the secure fit and wearing comfort of a larger circumaural-earpad model. The matte-grey EH-150 headband is constructed of an ultra-light plasticized polymer material with a nice bit of comfy padding underneath. The earpieces attach via small, ball-like protrusions that ride in a groove in the headband; the detents in this groove allow you to adjust the fit. This arrangement also allows you to snap the earpieces off the headband for compact storage, although the wear-and-tear this can cause on the ball joint can effectively ruin the attachment point after a few too many disassembly/ re-attachments. The easily-replaceable detachable cable is a three meter long "Y"-type, which attaches to both left and right earpieces via 1/8" [3.5mm] mono mini-plugs whose bodies fit tightly into a hole at the bottom of each earcup. At the other end, the cable is terminated with a 1/8" (3.5mm) mini-plug. A 1/8” to full-size 1/4" adapter is also nicely included in the package.
